Bounce back from COVID

The Arbour like many communities over the last 3 years has endured social isolation, travel restrictions and cancellation after cancellation of attempts to restart something akin to a past social life.

The payoff for resilience has been a more caring community, reconnected and celebratory, appreciative of simple social contact.

In recent months new vigour for exercise has seen a return of water aerobics, now 2 sessions a week and Joe Adams, Exercise Physiologist with a Masters from Charles Sturt U instructing on an individual basis for the best out of an exercise routine.

BBQ’s and regular Friday night happy hour registered record attendances along with themed morning teas, art groups and guest speakers.

The choir, 20 plus, has bounced back and was a part of the ABC TV Gardening Australia Christmas Special 2022. The ukulele group struck a chord. Those who listen but don’t play joined in for a group trip to the stage performance of Mumma Mia.

Our movie buffs have truly “bounced” with not one but three groups all with different interests/genre. The literary minded had numerous residents driving the Inaugural Berry Writers Festival (proudly sponsored by The Arbour).

The Arbour’s diverse cohort of residents has always been an attraction.

According to one renown social commentator, “………people remain mentally healthy not merely because of the integrity of their minds, but because they are constantly reminded how to think, act and speak by those around them”.

New enquiries have reconsidered the focus on community living with an important caveat - respect for privacy. The Arbour’s free standing single level homes are ideal for personal time without unwanted interference.

Socialising with community, pet friendly yards and homes designed with guests wing exalts the principle of remaining connected as a priority for quality and healthy living.
